K-12 Content Solutions is an established eLearning organization that has been serving the international audience for several years. We develop custom eLearning content for K-12, Higher-Ed, and corporate trainings. In addition to working directly with schools and colleges, we have been a preferred eLearning vendor in India for publishers and large eLearning companies. We offer content development services through our internal and extended team of SMEs (Subject Matter Experts). Our SMEs not only specialize in assessment development, Alt-text writing, text Book solutions, and other supplementary content work, but also provide curriculum development and learning design services. On the creative media front, we have delivered thousands of arts, illustrations, infographics, animations, and videos through several successful eLearning projects. Our developers specialize in developing interactive eLearning courses created through Articulate Storyline and other rapid authoring tools.

Title: Copy Editor

Reports to: Editing Manager

Location: Work From Home - India


Summary of Job:

The main purpose of the Copy Editor role is to deliver on the editorial quality assurance of educational content, in multiple formats, ensuring alignment with the required quality standards and styles. The role is focused on editing and proofreading written and multimedia content to ensure it is error free, engaging, and accessible to the intended audience. The Copy Editor will work on educational content across a wide variety of subject matter areas and assist Instructional Designers with their writing.are hiring English Language SMEs. It's a Work from Home opportunity.


Number of positions: 4
Experience: 2-6 years  

Education and Experience:

● A university qualification in linguistics, English, journalism, publishing, law, or similar, completed in English.

● Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an editing or proofreading role. 

● Excellent written skills, including thorough knowledge of grammar, syntax, spelling, and punctuation, and comfort working with various English conventions (e.g. US, UK, Australian, Canadian).

● Highly skilled in using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and GSuite. [MES1] 

● Knowledge of referencing styles, including but not limited to Harvard, APA, and Chicago.

● Previous educational publishing experience would be advantageous.

● Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

● Good organizational skills: ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment. 


Role and Responsibilities: 

● Edit and proofread written and multimedia content according to internal quality frameworks and partner standards and style guides, focusing on:

- Grammar and spelling

- Logic, accuracy, and structure

- Appropriate tone and style for the intended audience

- Formatting and layout, including the use of markdown language

- Fact-checking and consistency

- Inclusive language and accessibility requirements

● Implement changes to content from faculty

● Support the academic integrity of the educational content by running and interpreting plagiarism checks, escalating issues, and ensuring content is correctly referenced and cited according to the required style. 

● Conduct multiple quality assurance checks on graphics and final QA content

● Cross reference design requirements and multiple documents for alignment

● Provide instructional designers feedback on their writing, when necessary

● Work with different teams including graphic designers and implementation specialists 

● Consistently engage with department processes and platforms, upskilling where required and proposing possible improvements. 

● Assist with maintaining style guides and templates to ensure adherence to industry best practices. 


Contract Duration: 8-9 months

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s in English literature. Master’s degree desirable but not a constraint for deserving candidate.
2. Teaching experience or curriculum development experience in ELA.
3. Knowledge of US common core standards is essential.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication.
5. Should be a self-starter.

6.  Flawless writing and proofreading skills. 

7. Should have exposure to eLearning content creation and custom elearning development process.

SMEs needed with experience of 3+ years in Math and Science with exposure to US curriculum and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Math and Science Subject Matter Expert who will provide support for reviewing and resolving curriculum-specific client issues.
  • Write  and edit educational content  for assigned products and content areas.
  • Implement instructional design principles as per the training, feedback and provided guidelines.
  • Collaborate with peers and project team as well as with the  customer and any freelancers/vendors as needed.
  • Update existing content  creation documentation (process documents, guidelines, etc.)
  • Conduct content-related research activities.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Math (primary) and Science (as a secondary subject). 
  • A degree in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), and experience in  teaching will be helpful.
  • Editorial and proofreading skills with keen attention to details.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure on-time delivery of all project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with team members and contractors to ensure quality of deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment with baseline budget. 
  • Document MOMs and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Liaise between the client and internal team.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Should have good oral & written communication (Hindi and English)
